Description

This captivating Orissa Pattachitra depicts the divine couple Radha and Krishna in a standing embrace, symbols of profound spiritual love and devotion. Krishna, the Supreme Being, and Radha, representing the human soul, stand united, their figures rendered with the characteristic bold lines and vibrant palette of the Pattachitra tradition. Below them, Lord Vishnu's Dashavatara, his ten principal incarnations, are meticulously arrayed. These avatars, including Matsya, Kurma, Varaha, and Rama, signify Vishnu's periodic descent to Earth to restore cosmic balance and dharma through various epochs.

Crafted by Rabi Behera from Puri, a renowned centre for this art form, this painting is executed on a traditional 'paata', a prepared cloth canvas. The artist employs time-honoured techniques, utilizing natural colours derived from minerals, vegetables, and shells, mixed with gum resin, resulting in a distinct matte finish. The visible hand of the artist is evident in the crisp, defined outlines and the flat application of colour, characteristic of the Pattachitra school, where meticulous brushwork brings each iconic figure to life with expressive detail and symbolic precision.

This Pattachitra is a singular, one-of-a-kind original work of art, not a print or reproduction. It will be accompanied by a signed Certificate of Authenticity, affirming its provenance and uniqueness. We offer complimentary insured delivery across India, ensuring this sacred narrative reaches your collection safely and securely.
